Case Studies

Nearly all companies have the correct Health and Safety measures in place, below are just a couple of examples of what could happen to you if you did not do the right things and the implications of getting it wrong.
Competent Person

The enquiry

A charity had become the owner of their property and therefore the landlord of other business units held within the property. They wanted to set up regular tenant meetings and have H&S on the agenda.

How HSSS helped

As the charity’s identified competent person, their HSSS consultant attends the tenant meetings, providing updates on how H&S is being managed in the building and answering any questions raised by tenants and providing advice to the charity on recommended actions.

Safe Contractor

The enquiry

A jet wash company was applying to be the main contractor to clean the fronts of a large supermarket chain, but needed to have the Safe Contractor accreditation to meet the supermarkets requirements.

How HSSS helped

As a small family run business the company only had basic H&S documentation in place, HSSS were able to work with this and develop the detailed documentation the Safe Contractor accreditation required. HSSS uploaded all the documentation to the Safe Contractor portal and dealt with any enquiries, leaving the business owner free to carry on running his business and get his accreditation completed in an efficient manner.

Documention

The enquiry

A new start up business was in the process of applying for their insurance when their broker asked to see their H&S Policy and associated risk assessments and other specific documents.

How HSSS helped

After a short consultation meeting, getting to know the business and their services, HSSS were able to provide bespoke documentation meeting both legal requirements and the needs of the insurance company. The documents also allowed the business to start embedding safe working practices into their day to day operations and used the risk assessments as working documents to ensure ongoing H&S compliance.
